Kevin McE is a primary school teacher living in Colchester, Essex, England, but he wasn't always.

Born in the South London/Kent suburbs, he subsequently lived and worked in Guildford, the Medway Towns, Lewisham and the Isle of Sheppey before setting off to work in Bolivia and Ecuador. Whilst based as a Priest in Gillingham he coached football at a local Primary School and was a Chaplain at Gillingham F.C.. It was only on his return to England that he pursued a career in teaching, having spent the previous 21 years in ministry in the Catholic Church.

He is a knowledge junkie and a pedant, intolerant of everybody's errors except his own. He is burdened by occasional back pain and a long term addiction to Gillingham F.C.. He is a native speaker of English, and has a good command of Spanish: although he does not speak other languages, he is interested in linguistics and nationhood. Current affairs, ornithology and Jazz music, although his mistakes in playing the flute are too incoherent even to be classified as Jazz. Although born and raised in England, he is very aware of his Irish roots, and would be considered to fail the Tebbit test dismally.

He spends far too much time on his computer playing Football Manager, debating the most recent disasters to befall his football team, and surfing the web: now that he has discovered Misplaced Pages, his long-suffering girlfriend might never see him again. He understands how he could incorporate userboxes into this page, but prefers that people actually read his prose.

He occasionally lapses into talking about himself in the third person.
