Ted Taveras is co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Insurance Licensing Services of America, Inc. (ILSA). ILSA manages individual and corporate licensing with the Departments of Insurance in all 51 U.S. jurisdictions, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Taveras and ILSA partner with the American Bankers Insurance Association, an affiliate of the American Bankers Association, on insurance projects.

Previously, Taveras was a national award-winning webmaster and graphic designer in the transportation industry. He served for several years as communications specialist for the Houston Metropolitan Transit Authority. In 1997, he won the Adwheel Award from the American Public Transportation Association. In 1998, he won the search engine "Snap" Editor's Choice award in recognition of the Metropolitan Transit Authority website's overall excellence in content, design and usefulness.

He currently serves as Board Chair for the Heart of Texas Workforce Commission. He has served on The Texas Surplus Lines Association Legislative Committee and is a member of the Texas Association of Workforce Boards, the American Bankers Insurance Association (an affiliate of the American Bankers Association), the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas, and the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices.

Taveras was born in the Dominican Republic and immigrated with his family to Brooklyn, NY when he was six years old. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Journalism from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. He lives with his wife, ILSA co-owner Arleen Taveras, in Limestone County, Groesbeck, Texas.
