Iyengar is the name given to a community of brahmins of India who live in Tamil Nadu. They are followers of Sri Ramanujacharya and profess the Visistadvaita darshana. Important temples are SriRangam, Tirumalai, Kanchipuram which are the most important among the 108 Divya Desams.divided into Vadakalai and Thenkalai due to a later day division in their philosophies.
