Stéphane Picq (born 1965) is a French composer of computer game music, primarily for Cryo Interactive. He first began composing in 1987, but retired from the industry in 1998, moving to Madagascar.

Musical style

Stéphane Picq is a quite talented and unconventional musician - he owns dozens of instruments from all over the world, and can play all of them. His musical style is unique because it has what was after then called an "organic sonority" : lots of "organic sounds" were used in his tunes : breath, water, sighs... The best example of his style is Dune: Spice Opera, but you can also find this sonority in other tracks from Cryo's video games (track "Thaa's Secret" from Lost Eden (Marioland Theme), for example). He wrote around 232 different pieces and has many more on the way.
