That article and related images—Basically, the entirety of the ] of ], at least as of this writing—look problematic. The text in the article seems to be lifted straight from the artists' official web sites (so even if we have permission, it is probably not appropriate: it's advertising: "When asked about his love and appreciation of art, Bill responded that he enjoys painting immensely, but gets an even better thrill out of "watching others enjoy, admire, and buy his paintings", that sort of thing); the uploaded images are even accompanied by text like "All Highwaymen Artwork property of respective Artists featured on this website", clearly a claim for ''their'' website, not ours; clearly there is some kind of problem here, even if not a copyright problem, I'm hoping someone will sort this out. - ] | ] 06:35, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

Poster claims to be the author or to have permission

This section is specifically intended for pages which contain apparently non-GFDL copyright material for which a User has claimed copyright or permission(s). Initial listings of pages with suspected copyright problems should not be listed in this section. When placing items here, please post under the relevant month (eg. if the copyvio listing was first made in October 2005, please post it there). If you are a Misplaced Pages editor or administrator following up on a copyright problem, please place a note under the relevant listing, stating what you have done or plan to do; this will help prevent duplicated efforts at resolving the problem.

At the end of each article is the following:

"This article was posted by the permission of www.tasawwuf.org as mentioned below.

© 2001 - 2005 Tasawwuf.org. This material may be used for non-commercial use, provided it is unaltered and this copyright information and a link to our home page is included."

Clearly this is incompatible with the GFDL License, but I don't know the correct procedure to follow at this point. Could someone with more expertise either advise or take appropriate action? Thanks Cje 20:51, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Copyright "violation" for http://en.wikipedia.org/Image:Davidchockachi2.jpg. This is ridiculous and I would appreciate if you noobie editors would stop wasting my time. Why dont you try uploading pictures for a change? The photo is from a premeire which is always press release. The copyright is fine. Please remove the copyright violation.

 • Image:Reaganeastjetty.jpg contains {{GFDL-self}}, so perhaps the uploader is Willie C. Reagan (but then you'd think he'd spell his own name consistently correctly in the article The Highwaymen (painters). That article and related images—Basically, the entirety of the contributions of User:Imagineermmvi, at least as of this writing—look problematic. The text in the article seems to be lifted straight from the artists' official web sites (so even if we have permission, it is probably not appropriate: it's advertising: "When asked about his love and appreciation of art, Bill responded that he enjoys painting immensely, but gets an even better thrill out of "watching others enjoy, admire, and buy his paintings", that sort of thing); the uploaded images are even accompanied by text like "All Highwaymen Artwork property of respective Artists featured on this website", clearly a claim for their website, not ours; clearly there is some kind of problem here, even if not a copyright problem, I'm hoping someone will sort this out. - Jmabel | Talk 06:35, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
