Channing Tatum (born Channing Bryan Isaac Tatum Anderson on 20 April 1980 in Cullman, Alabama) is an actor and model.
He was oldest of eight children in an affluent family in Alabama that moved to South Dakota. He was shipped off to military school in Mississippi in 9th grade.
His first experience in the entertainment industry was modeling. He was cast in Ricky Martin's "She Bangs" video. He eventually signed with Major Models, an agency in New York City. He's been in the pages of Vogue magazine, Citizen K, and Contents. He's also done campaigns such as Abercrombie and Fitch, Nautica, American Eagle Outfitters, and Emporio Armani. He has also appeared in a few commercials, such as American Eagle Outfitters and Mountain Dew.
More recently, Tatum has also started an acting career. He appeared as the character Bob Davenport in an episode of CSI: Miami, and starred in the independent film Havoc. His most famous role to date is that of Jason Lyle, a high school student, in the inspirational sports movie Coach Carter starring Samuel L. Jackson. Tatum was also featured in a deleted scene in Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds as a boy in church. Channing is openly bisexual.
