The hero of Dragon Warrior III of whom legends speak dropped from the heavens. In reality he (or she) came from the town of Aliahan and is the son (or daughter) of Ortega, a famous warrior who embarked on a quest to defeat the Demon King Baromos, but fell in the journey. Several of Erdrick's descendants also save the world and their stories are told in Dragon Warrior I and Dragon Warrior II. In the original Japanese language games (Dragon Quest) Erdrick is known by the name Loto (or Roto, depending on the romanization system used). The name Loto is also used in the Game Boy Color remakes.
