Marko Pomerants (born 24 September 1964 in Tamsalu, Lääne-Viru County, Estonia) is an Estonian politician.

Career history

Pomerants began his political career in the Lääne-Viru County Environmental Department in 1994. A year later he moved on to become the governer ( Error: {{Lang}}: text has italic markup (help)) of the county for eight years. Entering national politics in 2003, Pomerants was the Estonian Minister of Social Affairs from 2003–2005 before becoming a full-time member of Riigikogu from 2005–2009. From 4 June 2009 to 6 April 2011 Pomerants served as the Minister of the Interior.
