:::::Hehe.. I think technically the category in his article is right, otherwise it should be named "''Important'' Vientman War people", so I let it stay there. --] 00:19, 24 Jun 2004 (UTC) |

I have removed Conti from VfD as an article having a name similar to your user name is not a reason to delete it. Please read the Deletion policy for information on what may be listed. You can always change your user name. Angela
- I didn't put it into VfD because it was similiar to my name. A friend of mine wanted to "prove" that wikipedia isn't perfect (or something like that) and made that article with silly informations about me. I put that page into VfD. He (his IP was 213.208.90.27) then changed my entry (in VfD) from "nonsense" to "too similar to my name, don't like it" and added information to Conti so it won't be deleted. I just want the information about me removed from the article because it is clearly not of public interest. Conti, 10 Nov 2003
- Well, there doesn't seem to be any information in it about you now, so hopefully you are happy for it to be kept. I didn't realise your words on VfD had been changed. Don't worry, there are lots of people looking out for vandalism, so I'm sure 213.208.90.27 won't cause any permanent damage. Angela 03:25, 10 Nov 2003 (UTC)
- I removed the information about me now. I don't have a problem with the article, as long as it's not about me ;-) Thank you for your help! Conti, 03:40, 10 Nov 2003 (UTC)
*hugs a foxie* hey there... I never knew you were on Misplaced Pages, too. ^_^ -- Schnee 18:55, 1 Jun 2004 (UTC)
We alphabetize articles according to surname. East Asian surnames are listed first. For example, Chiang Kai-shek's family name is Chiang, not Kai-shek. He should therefore be listed under C. I've reverted some of your edits accordingly. --Jiang 23:45, 23 Jun 2004 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advise! I already stopped sorting some names because I don't know how to sort them (Nguyen Cao Ky for example). I hope the other edits I made are ok :-) --Conti 23:50, 23 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Yep, it's confusing. Some of the articles, like Mizoguchi Kenji, have the surname in call caps so it is easily distinguishable. Then, we have Koizumi Junichiro, whose surname is Koizumi but listed under Junichiro Koizumi because the western media chooses to use the western convention for him.--Jiang 23:58, 23 Jun 2004 (UTC)
- hmm, that's why the esperanto wiki has all surnames in caps maybe? I already wondered about that.. I have the same problem with arab names, so I won't touch them either. Someone who knows more about non-western names can do that part. :-) --Conti 00:10, 24 Jun 2004 (UTC)
I noticed you put Survivor Rudy Boesch under "Vietnam War people". I don't think he's notable enough for that category.
Nice interests, BTW. :) Mike H 23:54, Jun 23, 2004 (UTC) (Edited because it logged me out! Gomen-nasai!)
- I didn't. I just went through Category:Vietnam War people to sort the people by their surname, and not their first name. As far as I know he belongs in that category, as long as he has/had something to do with the vietnam war, but I might be wrong with this. --Conti 23:56, 23 Jun 2004 (UTC)
- I understand that he had something to do with the war, but isn't that a bit vague? He was a soldier, and he's listed with Richard Nixon and whatnot. Mike H 23:59, Jun 23, 2004 (UTC)
- I'm not sure about the policy of categories in that point.. I just sorted his name for that category, not thinking about if he belongs in that category at all or not, so feel free to remove that catgory from his article. :-) --Conti 00:10, 24 Jun 2004 (UTC)
