Chewbacca (or Chewie), a character in the fictional Star Wars universe, is a 7-foot tall Wookie and co-pilot of the Millennium Falcon. While Chewie is perfectly able to understand 'Basic', he is unable to speak it due to his facial structure. He communicates with Han Solo using his own language, Wookie, while Solo always speaks to Chewie in Basic (see Languages in Star Wars).
Chewbacca used to have his own TV show. In this program, Chewbacca lived with his family. The strange thing about this is that all other members of his family could talk in Basic while Chewbacca couldn´t even though they all had the same facial structure.
