IGN is the largest and oldest general gaming website on the Internet.
Founded in 1995 (the 1 million+ member message boards were opened in July 2000), the part-free and part-subscriber only ($25/year membership) site has attracted 8 million unique visitors a month and has 5 million users registered through all departments of the site, which includes reviews, previews, walkthroughs, codes, and other media.
IGN Entertainment was the only gaming website in the stock market (Nasdaq: IGNX). IGN's stocks are no longer publicly traded as of 2003.
