His first team were the Ivorian ], before he moved to ] in September 2002. He attracted interest, and eventually was signed by Arsenal, who purchased him on ], ], on a four-year contract for £1.54 million. Thanks to this move, he now joins fellow ] international ] at Highbury.

His debut came only days after signing from Beveren, in the FA Cup against ]. Although, at first, not a regular first team player; Eboué's strong reserve performances stood him in good stead for future first team chances.
