The Diary of Anne Frank
She was a young teen girl. Jewish. Her family went into hiding in Amsterdam during the Nazi occupation and while there she wrote her diary.
After the family was rousted from their hiding place Meip Gees (sp?) found the dairy and saved it.
Only Anne's father Otto made it out of the concentration camps alive. Meip gave him the diary and he edited it for publication.
More recent editions compare her original entries with her father's edited versions.
Today, the Anne Frank House is open to the public. It is in the city center, within walking distance of the main train station, the palace and the Dam.
Please add more to this if you can - there is much more to tell about Anne Frank.
