Plot summary

Template:Spoiler As New New York suffers from a heatwave, all scientists are called to a special meeting of all the scientists on Earth to stop the problem. Professor Farnsworth reveals that he designed robots that spout out heat exhaust, thus leaving one possible solution - destroy all robots. Bender, having developed a kindness towards the turtles after seeing they can't get up when they fall on their backs (just like him), will gladly sacrifice himself. As all the robots are invited to the Galapagos islands for a "party", Richard Nixon's head and Wernstrom plan to destroy all the robots from a laser in space. Meanwhile, Bender reveals to all the partying robots that they are doomed, causing panic. Farsworth, Fry and Leela arrive at a solution to all these problems; all the robots must emit exhaust fumes into the air so they can push earth farther from the sun. All of the robots start to release their fumes. Bender and his turtle, however, fall over on their backs and can't get up. Just before Wernstrom's laser hits, the turtle finds a way to get up, so Bender follows suit and releases his fumes at the last second, saving the robots. For his work, Farnsworth receives a pollution medal and all the robots party, expelling pollution in the process.

Quotes

  • Al Gore: My fellow Earthicans, as I discuss in my book Earth in the Balance, and the much more popular Harry Potter and the Balance of Earth, we need to defend our planet against pollution, as well as dark wizards.
  • Prof. Farnsworth: A billion robot lives are about to be extinguished. Oh, the Jedis are going to feel this one.
  • Prof. Farnsworth: I was tired and in love.
Fry: That sounds awful professor, especially the making-out part.
Al Gore: Yeah... I really didn't need to hear that.
  • Hedonismbot: I apologize for nothing!

Trivia
