Robert Sumner is a Reverend and Christian author. Since the 1980s he has editted The Biblical Evangelist and has been engaged in conferences and lectures. He created controversy in 1989 when he wrote "“The Saddest Story I've Ever Told," which accused Jack Hyles of sexual scandals and financial misappropriation. Voyle A. Glover wrote that Sumner was threatened and defamed for his accusations by members of Hyles' church.
