Harry Edward Styles is a British singer and member of the British-Irish boy band One Direction.
Early Life
Harry was born on the 2nd of February, 1994; in the small village of Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, North West England. He lived with his mother, Anne, his stepdad, Robin, after Harry was separated from his actual father at birth. He also has an older sister, Gemma. He went to Hermitage Primary School, and he then attended Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School in his older years of education. Styles was the lead singer of White Eskimo with band members of lead guitarist Haydn Morris, bass guitarist Nick Clough and drummer Will Sweeny.
Early Career (X Factor)
Styles auditioned with his interpretation of Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely", and received positive comments from two of the three judges present at his audition, with Louis Walsh having doubts on whether he was ready to progress in the competition.
At bootcamp, he sang "Stop Crying Your Heart Out". The judges agreed that he was lacking something in his performance which let him down. Therefore, he was rejected as a solo artist, but they felt he was too good to let go of along with Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson. So they put them together and formed the group Styles named One Direction. The band were sent to the judges houses.
After being put through to the live shows, One Direction soared through each week, receiving very few negatives from the judges, and a lot of praise from their mentor, Simon Cowell. After making it through all the way to the final, and having so many screaming fans, they were voted off and came 3rd in the competition.
Even though Simon promised he would only sign the winner, he also signed One Direction even though he thought they were a risk.
They recorded a single "What Makes You Beautiful", which made it to Number 1 in the charts. And later, released an album, "Up All Night.
