== Psychiatrist ==

O cerebral one, why didn't you tell me you were running for admin! I'm saddened that I was not one of the >100 voters who collectively felt you would be capable of handling the mop. I wish I'd had the honour of nominating you! Actually, I wasn't even aware you'd returned. I have mainly medical articles on my Watchlist, and you seem to have studiously avoided editing any of them :-)

OK, so you need a psychiatrist. We have recently had {{User|ScotG}} join our quaint little project, and he has already shown good skills in handling evidence, trolls and combinations of the above. He's even stuck his arm in the crate with velociraptors (see ]). Let me know if you need any more help. ]&nbsp;|&nbsp;] 22:23, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

== Re: Hey ==

Of course, you're welcome. Although you know there's no need to thank me&mdash;there were several other people wanting to nominate you, and you easily would have succeeded even with a self-nomination. Thank ''you'' for allowing me to nominate you. And I did have an ulterior motive in wanting to get you to be an administrator. Certainly I thought you deserved it and would be able to accomplish tasks easier with administrative powers. And hopefully it will be an inducement to continue your great work here. But more than that, Misplaced Pages ''needs'' administrators like you. I am concerned about the general level of civility and of open-mindedness here, not just from administrators but from all users. The best leaders lead by example, and it is important to show how we feel discussion and interactions should take place, as well as to show that we can accomplish more through rational explanation and calm discussion than through name-calling and wheel warring. I wasn't exaggerating when I said you're the kind of administrator I'd hope to be. I'm glad you've finally agreed to be an administrator (although I miss the days you'd leave me messages to delete images for you). &mdash; ] ] 22:23, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

:Eh...don't try to humor me. Haha just kidding; thanks for trying to make me feel useful. I did go ahead and delete the images. Hope you're enjoying your new role. I see you've been yourself. I remember when I first became an adminstrator, I nearly blocked random users or deleted random pages several times. Haha. Hey don't forget to make some time amidst your new duties to take a look at ], if you get a chance. It's by no means complete, but I would be happy if you had any suggestions for changes in the article. Thanks bud. &mdash; ] ] 03:51, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi {{PAGENAME}}, thank you for supporting me in ] which passed with a tally of (93/1/2). :Gosh, you're using ''<nowiki>{{PAGENAME}}</nowiki>''? Hrrmph. Wherefore art the personal touch? This is ''most'' objectionable. Most objectionable indeed. <small>*makes mental note to remember kickass template idea* ;-)</small> —''] 20:43, 29 March 2006 (UTC)''
::If you do, I'd suggest you <code>subst</code>itute it, or you may eventually end up with something ]. Oh, and by the way, (with no offense intended to our esteemed new administrator above), do me a favor and ''don't'' include your final vote tally in your thank you message, if you leave one. It just seems so...tacky. I don't understand why all the new adminstrators seem to be doing it. &mdash; ] ] 05:56, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
:::And by the way, "wherefore" means ''why'', not ''where''. And ''art'' is the ''second-person'' singular. So your question means something like "Why are (you) the personal touch?" I think. OK, my lecture is over for now. &mdash; ] ] 06:00, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
::::Deeply sorry with the <nowiki>{{PAGENAME}}</nowiki>. I was in a whole lot of trouble the day I was promoted as an admin because if it was a normal day, I would probably have been inactive on that day. Nevertheless, I didn't want to delay my thanks message so I had to rush 90 or so messages as quickly as possible. Thanks for pointing out the subst: method. I will definately use that the next time I do something like this. <b><font color="teal">]</font></b>''<font color="teal">]</font>'' <b><font color="teal">]</font></b> 07:39, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

==Congratulations!==

While I have never seen an RfA more merely ceremonial, your success is still cause for great joy among all Wikipedians, as we are honored to have among our leadership: your selection eliminates the last hint of irony in the use of the term "braintrust" to describe the administrator-corps. I will now sleep more soundly at night, knowing you have a magic mop. :)

So, wanna do some work? ;) I love needling good admins to deal with the DRV backlog, and I think our beloved Splash is a bit tired of my reminders. I do as much as I can without the mop, but your superior judgment is best-suited to the task. Have fun cleaning! (Misplaced Pages is one of the few domains where genius-level janitors are useful, and probably necessary.) Best wishes, ] 18:23, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
:Darn it. There's that word again: work! And here I was hoping to get all comfy. ;-) That was the plan all along, see: get comfy and gaze at my shiny new buttons like I was stricken with ] in the middle of nowhere. Sigh. You just can't have it all, eh? Ok, I'll get to work soon. Speaking of which, everything you say about a good administrator corps ain't true, you know. Not until at least two people I've been having my eye on for a long time are "brainwashed", to use Tito's term. Now, who might one of them be? ;-) —''] 20:36, 29 March 2006 (UTC)''
::Well, despite opposition in some quarters, Kappa has ''long'' been on my list, as well as a few other folks. Your mind, however, is much too advanced for me to read, so I won't hazard a guess. :) Thanks for trimming the fat at DRV. Remember, when you delist an item, to add it to "Recently Closed" at the very bottom. These sorts of tips are the kind on which I thrive: the tiny details too mundane for great leaders to recall. I consider myself "support staff", dull but well-intentioned, the perfect ''non-administrative'' lackey for the remarkable editors who do deserve praise around here. ;) Your humble servant, ] 16:18, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
:::Whoa! I'm sorry, Xoloz, I missed this little post of yours. Thanks for the reminder; I like that little feature of R. fiend's and had wanted to enter the delisted items, but clean forgot. Something must have distracted me. I'll do it now. I'm going to strongly protest at the other bits, however; I have no servants, humble or otherwise, save Knowledge Seeker, who's very useful for setting my whithers and wherefores aright. You, good sir, are no lackey, support staff, or servant, and I hereby forbid such ridiculous utterances henceforth, by the powers vested in me (yeah, I've heaps of that, you'd have noticed ;-)). And we shall discuss the matter of your rightful ascendence to administratorship soon, mmkay? ;-) I will fully respect your wishes, but I should like to understand them better. —''] 04:51, 31 March 2006 (UTC)''

== You know what they say... ==

That the crème of the group rises to the top, and your RfA was a good proof of that. A huge outpouring of support showed Misplaced Pages's confidence in your abilities, so there really is no need to thank me, as you made your name by yourself... <tt>:)</tt> Be careful with the shiny new buttons, lest you want to do one of ... now, I see that you're trying to ''"brainwash"'' other editors into getting the shiny buttons. Doesn't that sound familiar? <tt>:P</tt> ]](] - ]) 00:18, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
:! I daresay I'll be doing dafter things soon enough, so watch my back, won't you? ;-) As for Xoloz, yes, the project to draft him is on; the Force is too strong and the skill too great in that One for him to remain apart for much longer. ;-) However I do suspect he'll be a tough one—there has been on his userpage a long-standing statement of disinclination to join the ranks. However, there is hope yet: he teases, "it is ''almost'' impossible I will ever aspire to that role..." (italics mine). Furthermore, the proferred reason might not withstand sustained persuasion: he spends enough time here, such that someone of his talent being fitted with the shiny bits can only do us all better. We shall hope and see. —''] 01:08, 30 March 2006 (UTC)''
:: He'll come to the dark side, don't worry, as the buttons do help... it is less frustrating to RC Patrol with rollback, to take an example. But speaking of glaucoma above... I see that ] is very similar to ], which is something I've been working on for a while for the ]. You might be interested to be the liaison for the ] project, as I don't know if the scale you're using is simlar to the ]... but that would be a ''huge'' boost for 1.0... ]](] - ]) 02:20, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
:::IIRC, it is. Both the scales are derived from the Chemistry group's thingy. The person to talk to is your recent co-nominator. :-) —''] 05:29, 30 March 2006 (UTC)''

== re:Image deletion ==

The talk page says it is a derivative of ] (so it is, in fact, sourced and the tag is not right). It looks like a duplicate to me, though. In which case it can be deleted per ]. Then, its duplicate needs tagging with {{tl|or-fu}}, but it might be worth either waiting until the relevant review is concluded (takes 5 days, so is inside the 7 day semi-speedy on images) and making sure the closure of the review is handled on time if it restores the article or waiting to tag it until after the conclusion of the review. The image you asked about (supposing it were not a duplicate) could be speedied 7 days after the application of the tag it currently bears, but not on the spot. -]<small>]</small> 13:49, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
