Thomas Crapper (September 1836 - January 27, 1910) was a plumber who owned a company by the name of Thomas Crapper & Co.'s in England. Common myth has it that he invented the flush toilet; however, none of the patents he held were related to this device.
Adam Hart-Davis has written a book on the history of the toilet, entitled Thunder, Flush and Thomas Crapper, which addresses many of the myths surrounding Thomas Crapper and his inventions.
