Masini was born in 1964, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to a military family. Masini's mother, June Stride was an award-winning author of seventeen educational works. Her father, Robert Barry, was a member of the Green Beret in the Vietnam War and currently serves on the National Board of Directors for Vietnam Veterans of America as the Region 4 Director.
Masini was married to Al Masini from 1995 until 1999. Today, she is married to consultant Philip Spencer.
Career
Television and Film Production
Masini successfully lobbied for film and television production legislation in Hawaii. In 2000, she raised several million dollars in financing for productions such as Blue Crush, Baywatch and the Miss Universe pageant. She is credited for the relocation of Baywatch to Hawaii in 1999 by Governor Benjamin J. Cayetano, and served as the show's producer while it was in Hawaii. The show brought "125 jobs for Hawaii residents, delivered marketing/advertising exposure utilizing/incorporating every media medium simultaneously, valued in excess of $66.6 million on a $2.7 million investment, while generating $45 million in state revenue -- 25 times the state’s investment."
