Plans for the new Exhibition Stadium.

The new MLS soccer franchise in Toronto. They are to begin play in the 2007 season as the first non-U.S. team in the MLS. Although the name has not been confirmed yet by the expansion team's owner (MLSE) a patent has been registered with the Canadian government. The name is a copy of the Italian team, Internazionale Milano F.C. (Inter Milan for short) and is meant to appeal to the large Italian community in Toronto. As well, as it is the first international team in the MLS, the name represents that also. Construction has begun on a new stadium at Exhibition Place in Toronto called Exhibition Stadium where Inter will play. The stadium will hold roughly 20,000 people and will be the largest soccer-specific stadium in Canada. It is due to be finished in spriing 2007, in time for the 2007 FIFA World Youth Championship. The stadium will be owned by the Canadian government while MLSE, the team's owner, will operate it. The cost of the stadium is estimated at $62.5 million. As well, an MLS Cup and an [[MLS All-Star Game ]] is due to be held in the stadium eventually.
