My name is George Watson, or dendodge if you prefer, and I'm a student from the United Kingdom. If all goes well, I hope to study theoretical physics at university, starting in 2012.
I used to edit Misplaced Pages quite heavily—I racked up more than 12,000 edits between 2007 and 2011. Eventually, the drama drove me away, and I moved to Wikinews, where I became an editor, administrator, OTRS volunteer, and arbitrator. That subsequently became even worse for drama, and I left Wikimedia altogether to focus on OpenGlobe, a citizen journalism wiki on which I'm an administrator.
I missed Misplaced Pages, so I've decided to resurrect my account here, but I'm going to keep away from all the drama. I want to write articles, and little more. That means I won't allow myself to get dragged into disputes (unless another editor raises an issue with my actions specifically), and I won't attempt to "collect hats"—I'm happy to be a normal editor for the foreseeable future.
I probably won't be as active as I used to be just yet, but I'll be around.
2009-05-17: ... that the plane of the ecliptic(effect pictured) is the imaginary plane which all the planets in our Solar System share as they orbit the Sun?
I appreciate barnstars and things, and I'm flattered to receive them, but I see no point in keeping an archive of them all here—it strikes me as "trophy collecting", and will probably serve only to inflate my ego. However, certain more prestigious and better-defined awards are probably worth mentioning.
