Dhruv Pratap Singh, more commonly known as Deepak Bhaiya (born August 4, 1960) is an Indian politician. Currently, he is Chairman of Katni Development Authority, Madhya Pradesh and belongs to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Political Career
He took the primary membership of BJP in 1980, and from 1988 to 2002 (14 years) he was Mandal Adyaksh from Badwara. Dhruv Pratap Singh started his political career in 1998, when BJP nominated him as their candidate in state election from Badwara constituency in 1998, but he lost that election with just 2000 votes to Congress candidate. In 2003 state elections, BJP again shown faith on Dhruv Pratap Singh and this time nominated him from Vijayraghavgarh constituency against powerful state minister Satyendra Pathak, who won the last 2 elections. Dhruv Pratap Singh defeated him by more than 13,000 votes, and become Member of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 2003 from Vijayraghavgarh (114) constituency. In 2008 state elections, BJP again nominated him from Vijayraghavgarh constituency but he lost the election to congress candidate. Then BJP nominated him as Party President of Katni District, Madhya Pradesh in 2010. After successful completion of his term as District President, Government of Madhya Pradesh nominated him as Chairman of Katni Development Authority in 2012.
