Pierre Elliott Trudeau (born October 18, 1919 - died September 28, 2000) was leader of the Liberal Party and Prime Minister of Canada from 1968 to 1979, and again from 1980 until 1984. In his late forties when he first became Prime Minister, he inspired Trudeaumania in the younger generation.
