Jameis Winston (born January 6, 1994) is an American football quarterback, baseball outfielder, and relief pitcher for the Florida State Seminoles.

Early years

Winston attended Hueytown High School in Hueytown, Alabama. He played both football and baseball. Winston was considered the best dual-threat quarterback recruit in the nation by Rivals.com. He was considered the best QB recruit by ESPN, and was named MVP of the ESPN RISE Elite 11 quarterback camp

Winston was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 15th round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft but he decided to go to college instead.

College career

Winston committed to Florida State University on February 3, 2012, and redshirted the 2012 college football season behind senior quarterback EJ Manuel.

Winston completed 25 of 27 passes with four passing touchdowns against the University of Pittsburgh in his first start of the 2013 college football season. He also ran for a touchdown.
