Fotouhi was installed as dean by Provost Ron Brown, in order to bring computer science from CLAS to the College of Engineering. But his top priority upon becoming dean was firing a lot of people, including world class renowned researcher Greg Auner (see ''Crain's Detroit Business'': http://www.crainsdetroit.com/article/20130601/NEWS/306029984/ , in order to free up budget money for a construction project to make his officer bigger and luxurious. As ''Crain's Detroit'' has reported, one of his firings came very close to causing a silane gas explosion because Fotouhi fired the only man in the entire university who knew how to manage the dangerous chemical. |
