His first CD as a leader, Mark Aanderud Trio 02, was awarded best album of the year 2002 by the Czech Music Awards. Aanderud has performed and recorded with Tim Berne, David Gilmore, Eli Degibri, Omar Rodriguez Lopez, Eric Reeves, Ximena Sariñana, Jonathan Kreisberg, Magos Herrera, Hernan Hecht, Agustin Bernal, Rick Parker and has performed at festivals and clubs in France, Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, England, Greece, Holand, United States, Mexico, Japan, Colombia, Argentina and other countries.
