Tessie is the title of a Broadway song, as well as another song about how the siniging of Tessie helped the Boston Red Sox win the first World Series in 1903. It was sung by the Royal Rooters, a collection of loyal fans led by local bar owner "Nuff Ced" McGreevey (so called because when he got fed up with arguments over the Red Sox and the Boston Braves, he would pound his hand on the bar and declare "Nuff Said!"). The second Tessie has become the theme song of the Red Sox and tells the story of how the Royal Rooters stormed the park one time when they found the game was already sold out.
Sadly the Rooters disbanded in 1918, and the Red Sox have never won a World Series since, having once been the major dynasty of baseball.
