During the election campaign, Milton became the subject of an investigative weblog by online activist ], which began by revealing that a large number of 'on the street' supporters from her campaign leaflets were, in fact, party activists and/or members of her campaign team. The weblog continues today by studying her record as a serving MP. Anne Frances Milton MP (born 1955) is the Conservative MP for Guildford.
Milton was educated at Haywards Heath Grammar School in West Sussex. She later trained as a nurse at St Bartholomew's Hospital in London and worked for the NHS for 25 years, as a district nurse and for people with terminal cancer.
Milton was a councillor in the Borough of Reigate and Banstead 1999 – 2004 and led the Conservative Group on the council. She was a member of the South East Regional Assembly and Vice Chairman of the Conservative Medical Society.
Milton was elected to Parliament in the 2005 general election, narrowly beating Liberal Democrat Sue Doughty by just a few hundred votes.
Milton is a member of the Health Select Committee. Her hobbies include gardening, running and reading.
