Hey! It's almost a week now but you haven't responded to my comments. I'm worried that if you did not reply to my suggestions, I may fail the article. Thanks! FairyTailRocks 10:42, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Cadinha

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Cadinha requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Misplaced Pages:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. PamD 15:27, 16 May 2014 (UTC)

There's no apparent connection between the one-word title and the person in the infobox; no mention of this name or nickname in the existing article at Rúben Saldanha, the name in the infobox - this article as it stands just doesn't make any sense. PamD 15:32, 16 May 2014 (UTC)

Modesto Acosta de la Rosa

Hello. Was wondering where in ref#1 it says he was promoted to Sevilla B in May 2013, and where in ref#3, which is just a teamsheet for the match, it says either that he made his debut or that the manager rested players ahead of the Europa League final. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 10:08, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

Thank you --AL (talk) 15:43, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

@Always Learning: Those players are listed at the website here. RRD13 (talk) 15:45, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

That has to do with the fact they were called to the first team in the last weeks, they belong to SEVILLA B. I tried to help, happy week --AL (talk) 15:49, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

@Always Learning: How can you say, that a player who is been listed in the A squad mentioned in the official website belong to the B team?? RRD13 (talk) 15:51, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

My turn now, please see Sevilla B at the OFFICIAL website (http://www.sevillafc.es/nuevaweb/equipos/plantilla/3/sevilla-atletico). --AL (talk) 15:52, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

  • I also see you are reverting me, i will do the same and what will happen? We will both be blocked, do you think it's worth it man? --AL (talk) 15:54, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

We have to wait until they are DEFINITELY promoted to the first team, and clubs offer that news in their website when it happens. None of those four players (one is 17 years old!) have been offered full professional contracts yet. To make things easier for us, we have the SEVILLA ATLÉTICO template, why not make use of it? --AL (talk) 16:01, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

  • I apologize for saying "refs seem to be added for the sake of it", i know you are trying your best, but so am i, please trust me on this one i am 100% sure. I don't know if you ceased communication with me now because: 1 - you agree with my last paragraph; 2 - you are tired of me. I hope it's the first one.

Happy week --AL (talk) 16:54, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Cadinha

The article Cadinha has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of how the page title relates to the person written about.

While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. PamD 07:31, 20 May 2014 (UTC)

Sourcing of BLPs

Hello. I note you didn't answer my question above about the sourcing of Modesto Acosta de la Rosa. So I'll rephrase it. Please will you read Misplaced Pages's policies on verifiability and biographies of living persons. And then please will you do two things. One, stop, as of now, adding "sources" to biographical articles which you know perfectly well don't verify the content you place them after. And two, please don't add content to biographical articles without adding sources that do verify the content. You could perhaps start with Cadinha, where the only cited source verifies the words "in 2013, he returned to his boyhood club" and very little else.

Deb, you've been here a long time now, and have created a lot of content. I see that AL has now added sources to the Mode article; you should be grateful to him. What's particularly concerning is that you've done a lot of work at WP:GA; I note barnstars higher up this page. I hope that you took sourcing rather more seriously in your work at GA, and I really do encourage you to take it seriously in your own creations as well. You don't want it to become a competence issue. Thanks for listening, Struway2 (talk) 08:55, 20 May 2014 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm Struway2. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living person on Tomas Maronesi, but that you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Misplaced Pages has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Struway2 (talk) 07:45, 22 May 2014 (UTC)

Several points:
  1. . The external link to Soccerway is wrong, unless you've fixed it since I tagged it;
  2. . Soccerway doesn't give "full" names, it gives as much of the player's name as it has a reliable source for. This means we can't assume that the name given on Soccerway is the player's full name;
  3. . Items in the External links section are not sources. Football has an unwritten convention that infobox stats can be "sourced" in the external links section, although strictly speaking it shouldn't. But any other information, particularly personal information about living people, should be referenced to a reliable published source in the normal way.
Thank you for listening. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 08:20, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
Although the page you link to at the HKFA site doesn't make it clear that the player's name actually is his full name, their policy is to use full names, as here, for instance, so that'd be OK as a source. But you need to put in inline, like any other reference, not just list it as one of a string of links in the External links section. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 08:52, 22 May 2014 (UTC)

What's next for GA?

Hi Royroydeb, I had completed my 2nd review that you approved of. Is there anymore steps to it? Thanks, TheQ Editor (Talk) 20:02, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
