Ace Mahbaz (Template:Lang-fa, born 25. June 1986 in Tehran) is an actor, writer, and the director.

Personal life

At the age of ten he moved with his parents to Cologne, Germany. After attending College, he went to Italy, France, England, currently lives in London and Berlin and became well-known in Sign Language Community. He has been deaf since birth and knows 5 languages fluently.

Career

He started to perform on stage as a teenager and there his interest grew. While living in Italy, he co-founded theatre company, created and performed plays in few Countries around Europe. Following this, he has been at many festivals including Ferstival Clin d’Œil throughout Europe as an Actor, Performer, Storyteller, Presenter and one-man show in various Sign Languages like DGS, BSL, LIS and LSF. He won first place in poetry slam competition (BÄÄM! Der Deaf Slam and Poetry Slam vs. Gebärden Slam) in Berlin twice. His latest play was in Midsummer Night's Dream as Oberon and Theseus at Shakespeare's Globe. Besides theatre, Ace also works as a Presenter in sign language of a programme called KRO. He has also featured as an actor in various short films.
