Abbott's parents came from Venezuela and Antigua. His mother gave him a first musical impulse by teaching piano. Before his career as musician Abbott studied psychology at University of California, Berkeley and English at Stanford. Also, he taught English at the University of California, Berkeley. One of his first artistic appearances was a duet with Whitney Houston. Official site
