Edgar Lungu is a Zambian politician and lawyer. He holds two portfolios in the current government and is the Secretary General of the ruling Patriotic Front. He is a contender for the party nomination as candidate for the 2015 presidential by-election.

Biography

He serves as the Zambian Minister of Defence and Justice Minister He is also the Secretary General of the Patriotic Front political party in power.

On November 3, 2014, interim Zambian President Guy Scott dismissed him as Secretary General of Patriotic Front. He replaced him with Davies Mwila, the Member of Parliament for Chipili. However, the next day, on November 4, 2014, President Scott announced Lungu was to remain as Secretary General.
