Manimal Vinyl is a Los Angeles based record label founded in 2006 by fashion stylist, Paul Beahan. They are known for releasing underground and experimental pop music. They were originally known as a folk label that makes annual tribute records for worldwide charities, having eventually switched to dance music and progressive underground. In 2009, they switched to worldwide distribution, making their once difficult to find catalogue available in the UK, EU and Asia. In 2008, they founded the annual Manimal Festival in Pioneertown, California. The festival has featured line-ups with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Warpaint, Ariel Pink and papercranes. Manimal has a subsidiary called Loose Recordings which is based in Vancouver, BC and operated by musician Nathalia Pizarro. Manimal also has a Public Relations Division, Creative firm with artist Nick Egan as well as a licensing division all based in Los Angeles. Manimal has offices in Los Angeles and New York City.
