In early years, the show was a two man operation, with Neil being assisted by Glen "The Bird" Hill, known for his cackling laugh and dry delivery. Hill left the show and has since died. In recent years, Rogers has allowed his current board op, Jorge Rodriguez, to participate to a much greater extent, and Rodriguez does the show when Rogers is on vacation. Most listeners feel that Rodriguez, known for his monotonal delivery and misogynistic material, has been a detriment to the show, and he consistently kills the ratings. The Neil Rogers show is one of the premier talk shows in South Florida. His ratings are consistently above all his competitors.
On occasion, his PD, Jorge Rodriguez fills in for Neil while on vacation.
Jorge Rodriguez is a fair replacement but his style is less than adequate with great effort , but not to the level of Mr.Rogers. Rodriguez struggles with confluency which makes him less than believable at times and hard to listen to at most. If it were not for Mr.Rogers friendship with Rodriguez, the Jorge Rodriguez show would be called "Que Pasa USA with Jorge Rodriguez"
Please go away Mr.Rodriguez and bring back the bird. Even though the bird is dead, he would have more style.
