FC Chernomorets Odessa or FC Chornomorets Odesa (Template:Lang-uk; Template:Lang-ru) is a professional soccer club in the Ukrainian Premier League. The club's home ground is the 35,000 capacity Tsentralnyi (Central) Stadium "Chornomorets" in the Black Sea city of Odessa. Despite their official name was changed to "FC Chornomorets" (Ukrainian spelling) at 1991, many people refer to the club as "Chernomorets" (Russian spelling).
The club has black, blue and white colours.
In 2005-06 Chernomorets gathered third place in Ukrainian Premier League just with 45 points ahead of three other teams with 43 points each. It became their highest achievement since 95/96 season. They won six and draw one out of 7 friendly matches with several clubs from Ukraine and Moldova in June-July 2006. FC Chernomorets will play at UEFA Cup 2006-07 season.
The club was a founder member of the current Ukrainian Premier League. After the seventh season (1997-98), it was relegated to the Persha Liha. The club was promoted for the 1999-2000 season, reaching second-to-last place that year and promptly getting relegated again. They resurfaced for the 2002-03 season and are currently in the top league.
