The Boro 001 was a Formula One car used by HB Bewaking Team Ensign, HB Bewaking Alarm Systems and Mario Deliotti Racing competed during the 1975, 1976, 1977 and 1978 Formula One seasons. It was designed by Dave Baldwin

Development

The car was initially designated as the Ensign N175, HB Bewaking Team Ensign team used the Ensign N174 for the Spanish, Monaco and Dutch Grands Prix. It was powered by the Ford Cosworth DFV V8 and the team used a Hewland FG 400 gearbox.

Racing History

1975: HB Bewaking Team Ensign

The N175 made its debut at the French Grand Prix with Dutchman Gijs van Lennep and finished 15th, Roelof Wunderink replaced van Lennep for Britain but failed to qualify. van Lennep returned for the German Grand Prix and finish sixth, The Dutchman was replaced by New Zelander Chris Amon and finished 12th in both Austria and Italy, United States Grand Prix

The Ensign team had scored one World Championship point, earning them twelfth place in the Constructors' Championship.

1976-1977: HB Bewaking Alarm Systems

Boro brought a N175 but was renamed the Boro 001 after their main sponsor, HB Bewaking, The Boro team ended up as proprietor of the car after a legal dispute with Ensign boss Morris Nunn.
