Domestic airport
At present, the domestic airlines operating at the airport include Indian, Air Sahara, Kingfisher Airlines, Air Deccan and Allaince Air (a subsidiary of India). In December 2006, Jet Airways is expected start flights from Hyderbad and Kolkata. Other domestic airlines that have shown interest include Go Air, Indigo.

As Visakhapatnam is situated on the east coast of India, it is nearer to Bangkok, Singapore, Colombo, Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh City etc. Many airlines such as Silk Airways, Thai Airways International, Sri Lankan Airways, Malaysian Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, Lufthansa, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Emirates, Royal Nepal Airlines, Bangladesh Biman and Air India have shown interest in the airport.
