Christopher Ryan Snyder (born February 12, 1981 in Houston, Texas) is a catcher in Major League Baseball who plays for the Arizona Diamondbacks (2004-present). He bats and throws right handed.

Baseball Career

In 2004, Snyder played briefly in his rookie year with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He entered the 2005 season battling with Koyie Hill, who had been acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers, for the role as starting catcher. The two would eventually platoon throughout the year, neither stepping up as the better player.

In the 2006, Snyder was the backup to Johnny Estrada. Snyder appeared in 61 games, and hitting a solid .277 with 6 HR and 32 RBIs.

As for the 2007 season, Snyder is expected to split time with youngster Miguel Montero for the Diamondbacks catching duties.
