Poster claims to be the author or to have permission
This section is specifically intended for pages which contain apparently non-GFDL copyright material for which a User has claimed copyright or permission(s). Initial listings of pages with suspected copyright problems should not be listed in this section. When placing items here, please post under the relevant month (eg. if the copyvio listing was first made in October 2005, please post it there). If you are a Misplaced Pages editor or administrator following up on a copyright problem, please place a note under the relevant listing, stating what you have done or plan to do; this will help prevent duplicated efforts at resolving the problem.

- Polymyalgia rheumatica (history · last edit) from . Direct and complete copy of website, in turn from a book, by the author (see here]). Aside from vanity issues of editor adding links on multiple pages to their own website, does involvement of a third party, namely the book's publisher, mean that they too would need to grant permission for use of material under GFDL ? The previous version of the article was acceptable, although a stub in desperate need of expansion. Does the editor, who clearly has an interest in the topic, merely need to re-add the material in a rewritten, restructured and wikified form? David Ruben 03:28, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- FWIW, most print publishers allow authors to keep their copyright, so only the author would need to give permission in most cases. (This isn't true of music publishing companies, incidentally.) – Quadell 16:18, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
- I have posted on the talk page of the editor in question, asking that she confirm her ownership of the material through the external website it was first posted on. --Robth 17:31, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

- Before posting the image, I obtained permission from S. Goudreault at DAP, to release the image with CC-BY. The source site copyright notice has not been updated since 2004. Jehochman (/Contrib) 19:26, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

- Linda Perry I first posted this at WP:DRV on the assumption that already-deleted content requests belonged there, but have received no response.
- This was deleted (including history) as a copyright violation, but an editor has shown up claiming otherwise, i.e. that the averred "source" actually copied from us. The thin ranks of the internet archive give us our version from March 2005 and the lindaperry.net site from the same month "under construction" with no bio. Note, I warned the user for "reposting" the text before investigating. --Dhartung | Talk 04:47, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- Regarding the issue above, I hold to the claim that I am the original author of the article that lindaperry.net has abused. For reasons unknown, it appears Lindaperry.net is trying to gain positioning on the net by removing this article. For instance, if you check the article's history you may see that officially verifiable sites under the links section as "lindaperry.com" and "killrockstar.com/lindaperry" were removed and replaced by lindaperry.net. A google search shows lindaperry.net as an "official site," but anyone can change their site's metatags to reflect such. I'm not sure why the article's history, showing the original article, had been deleted? I am currently on a different computer, but can, if necessary, get the IP address of the computer that I wrote the original article on. --Zerodegrees
- (Note that this process has nothing to do with what another site has done with our content.) It would be best, though, if we could reclaim our article's editorial history per the GFDL so that our own contributors are properly credited. Could an administrator comment? --Dhartung | Talk 06:14, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- I'm confused. What needs to be done here? – Quadell 19:45, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- Nothing by us. DRV restored it. This section can be removed once you've seen this. --Robth 00:12, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
