Dr. John Bowman is a well-known Irish radio and television presenter. He specialises in current affairs and Irish history and has written a number of books on Irish political history. He currently hosts the programmes "Questions and Answers" and "Bowman Saturday" on RTÉ.

His son, Johnathan Philbin-Bowman was also a TV presenter and journalist. He died tragically in an accident in March, 2000
