Ryan Wang is a Canadian pianist considered to be a child prodigy. He first studied under the direction of Miss Fafan Xiao and in 2014 switched to Prof. Lee Kum Sing.
Concerts
He has successfully held concerts at Fazioli Concert Hall in Italy and Kay Meek theatre in West Vancouver at the age of 5. Also, he was invited to perform in the Ellen Show, CBC Music, and Yundi Li 2014 New Year Concert in Beijing, China. He has also been attending the Caslmaggiore International Music Festival since 2015.
In 2014, Ryan was the First Place and Scholarship winner in the 6–10 years old category in both AADGT and American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competitions and was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in March. In November 2014, Ryan was invited to perform as part of the cultural component of Canada’s participation in the APEC Summit in Beijing, China. He has participated in fundraising concerts to support causes such as the Sarah McLachlan School of Music, BC Children’s hospital and needy elementary schools in China.
Awards
In 2013, Ryan was awarded the First Place and Judges’ Distinction in American Protégé International Music Talent Competition and was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall at the age of five.
