Realtor.com (stylized as realtor.com) is a real estate listings website operated by the company Move. Realtor.com is based in Santa Clara, California.

History

Milestones

  • Realtor.com is launched in 1995 as a domain name for a closed network used by members of the NAR, called the Realtor Information Network (RIN).
  • In 1996, the site became public. NAR added Regional Multiple Listing Service (RMLS) listings to the site.
  • In November 1996, the site was relaunched as RealSelect. The domain realtor.com was kept and operated by HomeStore.com (or Home-Store.com Inc.).
  • Homestore went public in August 1999.
  • In 2015 News Corp agreed to purchase realtor.com's parent company, Move, for $950 million.
