Shirley Phelps-Roper is the daughter of Fred Phelps, the leader of the Westboro Baptist Church. She has received recent media coverage in Fox News, The Howard Stern Show, The Adam Corolla Show) for her aggressive preaching and campaigns. Phelps-Roper received both B.A. and J.D. degrees from Washburn University and currently practices with Phelps Chartered, the Phelps family's law firm .
Following the murders of four Amish schoolgirls in Pennsylvania, Westboro Baptist Church announced that it would be picketing the funeral. Having learned of this, radio talk show host and Fox News analyst Mike Gallagher offered them air-time on his radio show in exchange for not protesting at the girl's funerals.
