Kyle Kashuv (born c. 2001) is a survivor of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, school safety activist and mobile app developer. Since the shooting, he has met personally with President Donald Trump as well as other politicians from both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. Following the shooting, Kashuv has received media coverage for his views on the Second Amendment and criticisms of fellow students Emma Gonzalez and David Hogg, who are gun control advocates.
Shooting survivor
Kashuv, whose parents immigrated the to United States from Israel in the 1990s, survived the shooting, although he was not in the freshman building attacked by the gunman. Following the shooting, he received news coverage and went to Washington D.C. to lobby for "bipartisan legislation", meeting with President Trump, First Lady Melania Trump and Washington, D.C. politicians. Kashuv's half-hour meeting in the White House Green Room with the First Lady consisted of conversation regarding mental health. After they met, Melania Trump tweeted: "His message of unity inspires us all!"
Kashuv supports the "STOP School Violence Act" introduced by Senators Marco Rubio (FL-R) and Bill Nelson (FL-D). He has asked other prominent Parkland survivors to support the legislation. He was an attendee at the March 24 March for Our Lives event at the White House.
Smartphone app

Kashuv stated in a tweet on Twitter that he had an interview cancelled by CNN after retweeting a tweet by journalist Clay Travis saying that CNN is “biased” and calling Brooke Baldwin a “fake news hypocrite”. Newsweek and former MSNBC contributor Kurt Eichenwald attacked Kyle on Twitter, stating he continues to “disappoint” and that he’s “trafficking in fantasies”. As a result, he called for boycott of MSNBC.
