Yea, if the obvious outcome is going to be "Keep" or "Speedy Keep" then yes, you may close it. Likewise, if an article was speedy deleted and the AFD was never closed, you may close it as a speedy deletion too :) semper fi — Moe 14:40, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Sorry for this unexpected announcement, but I have decided not to go for adminship right now. I have (in the past) promised myself that I would wait until 2007 or maybe even later to get myself nominated, but I guess in all the thoughts swirling in my head around the time of my birthday, I must have forgotten this. I am very sorry to do this to you Exir, but I can't accept your nomination right now :( Even if this nomination was just for the sake of running, I would want to wait until I thought I was absolutely sure I was going to make admin.
