Women in Red

Thanks for joining WiR. We look forward to more biographies of Latin American women. Let me know if you run into any problems. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 16:58, 4 January 2018 (UTC)

Have you heard this?

Have you heard this yet? Maybe we can use it?----ZiaLater (talk) 19:26, 18 January 2018 (UTC)

@ZiaLater: I have, but I'm a ittle concerned about the outlet and it is actually a video where Óscar Pérez can be seen clearly. I recall CNN in Spanish included the video while reporting, this is the segment if I'm not mistaken. If the sources are going to be included because of the negotiation, I should also note that Óscar published in several videos, in which the first one was about him explaining that there was a surrender in process. I see the article already include Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch statements regarding a extrajudicial execution.--Jamez42 (talk) 02:16, 19 January 2018 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello NoonIcarus, thank you for your efforts in reviewing new pages!
The NPP backlog at the end of the drive with the number of unreviewed articles by creation date. Red is older than 90 days, orange is between 90 and 30 days old, and green is younger than 30 days.

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 3819 unreviewed articles, with a further 6660 unreviewed redirects.
  • We are very close to eliminating the backlog completely; please help by reviewing a few extra articles each day!

New Year Backlog Drive results:

  • We made massive progress during the recent four weeks of the NPP Backlog Drive, during which the backlog reduced by nearly six thousand articles and the length of the backlog by almost 3 months!

General project update:

  • ACTRIAL will end it's initial phase on the 14th of March. Our goal is to reduce the backlog significantly below the 90 day index point by the 14th of March. Please consider helping with this goal by reviewing a few additional pages a day.
  • Reviewing redirects is an important and necessary part of New Page Patrol. Please read the guideline on appropriate redirects for advice on reviewing redirects. Inappropriate redirects can be re-targeted or nominated for deletion at RfD.

Women's History Month 2018 at Women in Red

Welcome to Women in Red's March 2018 worldwide online editathons.

Historically, our March event has been one of the biggest offerings of the year. This year, we are collaborating with two other wiki communities. Our article campaign is the official on-line/virtual node for Art+Feminism. Our image campaign supports the Whose Knowledge? initiative. ]

ACTRIAL:

  • ACTRIAL's six month experiment restricting new page creation to (auto)confirmed users ended on 14 March. As expected, a greatly increased number of unsuitable articles and candidates for deletion are showing up in the feed again, and the backlog has since increased already by ~30%. Please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day.

Paid editing

  • Now that ACTRIAL is inoperative pending discussion, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary.

Subject-specific notability guidelines

Nominate competent users for Autopatrolled

  • While patrolling articles, if you find an editor that is particularly competent at creating quality new articles, and that user has created more than 25 articles (rather than stubs), consider nominating them for the 'Autopatrolled' user right HERE.

News

  • The next issue Misplaced Pages's newspaper The Signpost has now been published after a long delay. There are some articles in it, including ACTRIAL wrap-up that will be of special interest to New Page Reviewers. Don't hesitate to contribute to the comments sections. The Signpost is one of the best ways to stay up date with news and new developments - please consider subscribing to it. All editors of Misplaced Pages and associated projects are welcome to submit articles on any topic for consideration by the The Signpost's editorial team for the next issue.

AFD

Hi, Please don't edit my comments as you did at the AFD, Whilst I agree the wording is perhaps a tad strong the point still stands - I can't stand people who are all "Look at me, Look at me" hence why my wording there is strong, Thanks, –Davey2010 02:17, 30 April 2018 (UTC)

@Davey2010: Hi. While I agree with you that I have zero tolerance for self promotion articles, the wording is still inappropiate under WP:TPG and I worry that it somehow harms the current nomination. Having already tagged the text, I leave it to your consideration. Cheers, --Jamez42 (talk) 02:25, 30 April 2018 (UTC)
Hi, Meh I think the majority of people wont really care but thanks for your help anyway, Happy editing :), –Davey2010 02:47, 30 April 2018 (UTC)

Disqualifications

PLease stop readding the disqualifications section in the "iregularities" secction. There is already a "disqualfications" section, there is no need for two. Lets keep it all in one place.ApolloCarmb (talk) 14:43, 5 May 2018 (UTC)

@ApolloCarmb: As I specified in the edit summary, the " paragraph includes the revalidation of parties and the Supreme Tribunal's decision". Moving it is a better option than deleting a section with new sources.--Jamez42 (talk) 14:47, 5 May 2018 (UTC)
I am adding it now.ApolloCarmb (talk) 14:56, 5 May 2018 (UTC)

Jamez

Please stop adding gibberish that makes no sense in the english language.ApolloCarmb (talk) 15:06, 5 May 2018 (UTC)

@ApolloCarmb: From what I see in this diff there's deletion of context and rephrasing for less strong words. By now you should now that I'm not a native English speaker, so I would appreciate that if there's somehow I could improve my edits I could receive helpful advise instead of name calling, such as "not using actual english". Thanks in advance. --Jamez42 (talk) 15:18, 5 May 2018 (UTC)
That is not name calling. Anyhow, I do not even know what you are trying to say.ApolloCarmb (talk) 15:23, 5 May 2018 (UTC)

3RR

Break the WP:3RR again on Venezuela regional elctions, 2017 and you will be reported and likely blocked. I suggest you self-revert.ApolloCarmb (talk) 18:37, 6 May 2018 (UTC)
