Unblock request
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.Tanbircdq (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
For the five years I was editing the encyclopedia, and I have made large contributions in creating and improving many articles from a wide variety of subjects. I intend to generally make gnome edits to any article I come across for maintenance but have a particular interest in those of involving British Bangladeshis and Muslims. I've been blocked due to the result of SPI and AE against me. I acknowledge that the poor conduct leading up to my ban was unacceptable and I do not dispute to receiving the ban. Before this I had a good record of engaging and collaborating with other editors in good-fath. I understand that there are ways of resolving conflict resolution without resorting to behaviour which contravenes policy guidelines. During my block, I have made contributions on the Commons page. I feel I can make further constructive and productive contributions, therefore, should be give the opportunity to be allowed to return to the website.
Accept reason:
Accepted with unblock conditions, as described below. ~ Rob13 18:38, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
- Please provide a full history of your socking, including whether it continued after your block, and a deeper explanation of what led you to sockpuppetry/why I should believe you will not do it again. You were caught socking twice (one in 2014, a second time leading to your indefinite block), so I will need a thorough and candid explanation to have any chance of convincing me a continued block is not preventative. ~ Rob13 22:32, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
- A full history is available on the SPIs here and it did not continue after by block as I haven't edited Misplaced Pages since other than the contributions on the Commons page. The first instance was just stupidity. The second instance was due the frustration and injustice I felt after an editor accused me of having an agenda and I retaliated.
- I've gone over nine months without editing, I'm not sure if I would now have time to be as active as I was before but there are potential Misplaced Pages pages which I was working on that I'd like to publish and there are many pages which I previously regularly edited that I would like to continue to update. I have absolutely intention of socking, should I be allowed to return, my contributions are likely to be fairly minimal in the future, I'll probably steer clear of conflicting topics on the whole and concentrate more time on topic areas which take less effort and patience to come into fruition. Tanbircdq (talk) 23:20, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
- Do you have any comments as the blocking admin, Coffee? I'm inclined to grant this request with a set of reasonable restrictions. I would specifically like clarification from you that this block was not an AE action, even though it originated from an AE thread. I assume this is the case because the duration exceeds that which can be applied via discretionary sanctions and I see no evidence it was logged. ~ Rob13 01:39, 14 March 2017 (UTC)
- @BU Rob13: I can confirm that this was not an AE action. It seems quite reasonable to allow the WP:OFFER to apply here. — Coffee // have a cup // beans // 02:18, 14 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Tanbircdq: Could you talk a bit more about what conflict led you to feel the need to sock? I'll offer you an unblock under a set of conditions, but I'd like to ensure the conditions help you return to regular and uncontroversial editing. ~ Rob13 03:29, 14 March 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Rob, sorry for the late reply. The conflict was that I added sourced material on a page, to which I was accused of having an agenda, however, despite this continued constructively contributing on the talk page only for the matter to be preemptively taken to ANI where it was shown I had done nothing wrong. After this I felt it untenable, and too disheartened and despondent to contribute on the page but I then regrettably decided to lash out. Tanbircdq (talk) 21:42, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Coffee and BU Rob13, I can't use talkback, I would appreciate if you'd please response here, thanks. Tanbircdq (talk) 20:30, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
- Per our policy on conditional unblocks, I'm willing to unblock you provided you agree to two restrictions. First, you are restricted to a single account indefinitely. This restriction may be lifted or modified by the community or by myself to allow another account to be used for some specific purpose. Note that this restriction bars you from even those use cases of alternate accounts that are typically considered legitimate (e.g. public-use accounts or bot accounts) unless the restriction is lifted or modified. Down the road, I'd be more than willing to entertain reasonable requests to lessen this restriction, if you have a compelling reason to use an alternate account. Second, for the next six months, any uninvolved administrator may re-block you at their discretion for any disruptive activities, up to and including an indefinite block. This more-or-less formalizes the reality for all standard offers; this is a last chance, and there are no warnings left to be had. If you find these restrictions acceptable, ping me and I'll unblock you. ~ Rob13 22:55, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

Religion and ethnicity in infoboxes
A little over a year ago, two RfCs concluded that religion and ethnicity should not be allowed in biographical infoboxes, see:
- Misplaced Pages:Village pump (policy)/Archive 126#RfC: Religion in biographical infoboxes
- Misplaced Pages:Village pump (policy)/Archive 127#RfC: Ethnicity in infoboxes
Please do not add them to infoboxes, as you did in this edit. --Worldbruce (talk) 01:05, 30 March 2017 (UTC)

Copying within Misplaced Pages requires proper attribution
Thank you for your contributions to Misplaced Pages. It appears that you copied or moved text from Mr. Bean into Mr. Bean (character). While you are welcome to re-use Misplaced Pages's content, here or elsewhere, Misplaced Pages's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Misplaced Pages, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from ]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Misplaced Pages:Copying within Misplaced Pages. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:06, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
Copyright problem on British Bangladeshi and Munsur Ali
Material you included in the above articles appears to have been copied from copyright web pages elsewhere online. Copying text directly from a source is a copyright violation. Unfortunately, for copyright reasons, the content had to be removed. Also, as a result of this discussion, the Daily Mail is not longer considered a reliable source for this wiki. Please leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:41, 1 May 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Mahi Muqit
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Mahi Muqit requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.retinasurgeon.uk.com/about-mahi/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Misplaced Pages takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Misplaced Pages to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Misplaced Pages:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Misplaced Pages:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Misplaced Pages's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. reddogsix (talk) 01:50, 1 July 2017 (UTC)
July 2017
Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Mahi Muqit. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. reddogsix (talk) 16:35, 1 July 2017 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Nusaiba Mohammed
Hello, Tanbircdq. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Nusaiba Mohammed, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:
- edit the page
- remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- save the page
Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Excessive linking; ethnicity and religion; and social media external links
In this edit you reverted a number of improvements to article Ahsan Akbar:
- You added numerous links to everyday words used in context, links that are very unlikely to be followed. Readers of the English-language Misplaced Pages are not stupid, they are sufficiently familiar with occupations like "writer", locations like the "United Kingdom", and concepts such as "British" that they do not need to read entire encyclopedia articles about them to understand the main topic, in this case the subject of a biography. WP:OVERLINKING elaborates on what overlinking is and why it is harmful to the encyclopedia.
- There has been overwhelming consensus since RfCs Religion in biographical infoboxes and Ethnicity in infoboxes not to include religion or ethnicity in infoboxes. Your continued addition of them, despite this having been explained to you before, is not constructive. It does not change how the infoboxes are rendered, but does pollute maintenance categories and creates extra work for other editors. Please stop adding them. You are welcome to mention them in the body of the article if relevant and properly sourced.
- Misplaced Pages is not here to promote every social media account of its subjects. Normally only one official link is included. Avoid adding more, particularly when they are prominently linked from the first official webpage. See WP:ELMINOFFICIAL for more information.
Remember that you do not own articles that you create, and should respect the contributions of fellow editors. --Worldbruce (talk) 00:08, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

Jeremy Corbyn
I have removed undue material from many biographical articles of individuals endorsement of Jeremy Corbyn which you added. Usually, this is because the additions are disproportionate to their real significance, reactive rather than active, and of limited notability. Sometimes, as with Peter Tatchell and George Monbiot, it misrepresents their variable response to Corbyn over the last two years. Philip Cross (talk) 17:19, 15 July 2017 (UTC)

Please stop making disruptive edits, as you did at Ewan McGregor.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively you can read Misplaced Pages's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, seek assistance at Misplaced Pages's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
If you continue to disrupt Misplaced Pages, you may be blocked from editing. Do not add misleading edit summaries. 4TheWynne 23:28, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
- As you appear to have ignored my message here. Following on from MidnightBlueMan's findings, I don't see what purpose this warning serves over this edit. You reverted my edit and then accused me of making disruptive edits, threatening me with being blocked etc over a "misleading" edit summary which if you used your common sense you could see the edit summary was a mistake but the edit was clearly a good faith minor edit that didn't require being reverted.
- As it clearly says on my talk page template; Do not template me. I am a regular editor and I take your template as seriously rude behavior. I may even report you as a rude editor. Tanbircdq (talk) 10:59, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
- It appears that I missed the finer details – I didn't even notice the message, to be fair, and for that I apologise. I was only concerned about the misleading edit summary, which I didn't realise was just a mistake – whenever and wherever I see something like that, I just take action, and in this case, I shouldn't have. 4TheWynne 12:20, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

Moved Sanders' endorsement of Corbyn
Hi Tanbircdq, Thank you for your interest in Bernie Sanders. I just wanted to inform you out courtesy that I moved your contribution, regarding endorsement of Jeremy Corbyn under "Political positions" to Political positions of Bernie Sanders#Endorsement of Jeremy Corbyn. I did this because the other topics in "Political positions" in the main article are general in nature, as befits a main article, whereas his endorsement of Corbyn is a very specific stance, more appropriately covered in the latter arcticle. I hope that you will find this acceptable. I'll watch for your comment here, if it's OK with you. If not, let's discuss at Talk:Bernie Sanders. Cheers, User:HopsonRoad 21:46, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
- Hi HopsonRoad, thank you for having the courtesy to take the time to explain your removal. I do agree that Sanders' endorsement of Corbyn is quite specific as opposed to some of the other topics in the "political positions" section. However, I do think it's notable enough to have a general summary on main page with specific details elaborated on "political positions" page. I hope that you will agree that this is acceptable, take care. Tanbircdq (talk) 23:31, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reply, here, and your engagement at Bernie Sanders, Tanbircdq. I have a symmetry question for you. If mention of Sanders' endorsement of Corbyn is notable in the Sanders article, is it not also similarly notable in the Jeremy Corbyn article, where I find no mention? As an editor, I would not have considered either the giving or the receiving of the endorsement to be sufficiently notable for a main article, unless it had an effect on the course of events. Sanders, for instance, is making waves in the other political positions mentioned, whereas the first time that I learned of his endorsement of Corbyn was through your contribution. On Corbyn's end, do we suppose that Sanders' endorsement had a positive effect? I recognize from your citations that it made the news in Great Britain. Cheers, User:HopsonRoad 13:24, 5 August 2017 (UTC)

Ahlus-Sunnah wa’l-Jama’ah
Hi-- I've come across Ahlus-Sunnah wa’l-Jama’ah after another editor started adding links to it in various article. The article is a WP:CFORK of Sunni Islam. The phrase is the formal Arabic term for Sunni Islam, and I see nothing in the sources cited there to indicate that it is commonly used in English to refer to some denomination that is distinct from what is normally referred in English-language RSs as Sunni Islam. Please see the citations with quotes in Sunni Islam (whose Arabic counterpart, by the way, is titled أهل السنة والجماعة). I can see that you've put significant work into this article and understand that you may be disappointed by its becoming a redirect. You may want to consider whether some content there is suitable for merging into Sunni Islam. I've considered it myself, but I couldn't find any complementary content there based on solid academic sources. Eperoton (talk) 00:59, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Aladin Ali
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Aladin Ali, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Misplaced Pages:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Edwardx (talk) 17:33, 8 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi Tanbirdcdq, regarding this edit, please be aware that the "International Journal on Studies in English Language and Literature" is a spammy and likely predatory journal. It's published by "ARC Journals", listed by Beall here. See also Predatory open access publishing. I encourage you to not use such articles and to remove them from Misplaced Pages articles if you see them. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 14:01, 5 October 2017 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Scottish motivational speakers
A tag has been placed on Category:Scottish motivational speakers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
An article that you have been involved in editing—Dennis Skinner: Nature of the Beast—has been proposed for merging with another article. If you are interested, please participate in the merger discussion. I would suggest keeping your article as the main one, copying any missing information from Nature of the Beast (Film) before turning it into a redirect to your article. Thank you. Positive Money
Thanks for finding some valid content for this article. One thing of concern, however. The bit about Dyson founded it after reading a book is WP:UNDUE. It might belong in Dyson's biography if he says that this was a key moment in his intellectual or political development, but it is not of encyclopedic interest in an article about the organization. Every organization, after all, is founded by individuals acting out of knowledge and belief. It is WP:SYNTH to associate the author of a published book with Dyson or with Positive Money in this way. If the author has made any statements about Positive Money, that would be a different matter and those statements might be due weight in the Positive Money article. Please remove this bit about the book that you have just re-instated. Thanks. SPECIFICO talk 23:57, 8 March 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for your message about your on about whether the origins of how the organisation was founded should be included on the article. However, as you can clearly see from the diff that I have not "re-instated" this content and the last revision shows this content was already in the article.
- If you have concerns about this then I suggest that you take this to the talk page rather than canvassing me directly. Thanks. Tanbircdq (talk) 11:49, 10 March 2018 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Anwara Ali
The article Anwara Ali has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Councillors or mayoral *candidates* are not notable under WP:NPOL. Rest of the article is minor stuff. The "British Bangladeshi Who's Who" is not a reliable source as people submit their own biographies.
While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Bondegezou (talk) 09:35, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
Question
Hi, im Tiberius. I saw one of your edits on the article Jeremy Corbyn and thought i'd check out your user-page. According to your page you are a Bangladeshi socialist, what i want to ask about is wether you are a member/affiliate/supporter of any particular political party? Tiberius Jarsve (talk) 18:05, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, no I'm not a member, affiliate or supporter of any political party in Bangladesh. Tanbircdq (talk) 12:20, 8 April 2018 (UTC)

Hi. Just look at the infobox. Where does the title "Prime Minister of the United Kingdom" appear? Nowhere, that's where. An insane outcome. That's why I've reverted your edit twice. -- Jack of Oz 22:21, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

Positive Money
I suggest you read the instructions and conditions for removing the notability tag. You are joining an edit war that's been waged over an extended period by Single Purpose Accounts and sockpuppets. What is the array of independent, reliable sources written directly about this organization that you believe establishes notability beyond all doubt? If you have such references, please add them and their associated content to the article. If not, as the instructions say, raise your concerns on talk but do not remove - or in this case please undo your removal - of the template. The purpose of the template is to attract editors to add valid well-sourced content to the article, and premature removal thwarts that objective. SPECIFICO talk 21:56, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
- "beyond all doubt"? This is not a court of law. This is Misplaced Pages. You are straining too hard to impose your beliefs. Reissgo (talk) 15:29, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

Hello. You appear to be involved in an edit war on Antisemitism in the UK Labour Party and Labour Party (UK).
While the three-revert rule is hard and fast, please be aware that you can be blocked for edit warring without making 3 reverts to an article in 24 hours. You are not entitled to 3 reverts and edit wars may be slow-moving, spanning weeks or months. Edit wars are not limited to 24 hours.
If you are unclear how to resolve a content dispute, please see dispute resolution. You are expected to cooperatively engage other editors on talk pages rather than reverting their edits. Note that posting your thoughts on the talk page alone is not a license to continue reverting. You must reach consensus.
If you feel your edits might qualify as one of the small list of exceptions, please apply them with caution and ensure that anyone looking at your edits will come to the same conclusion. If you are uncertain, seek clarification before continuing. Quite a few editors have found themselves blocked for misunderstanding and/or misapplying these exceptions. Often times, requesting page protection or a sockppuppet investigation is a much better course of action.
Continued edit warring on Antisemitism in the UK Labour Party and Labour Party (UK) or any other article may cause you to be blocked without further notice. Alssa1 (talk) 18:19, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
