Case of Aimée was the subject of the doctoral thesis of Jacques Lacan, and concerned a woman who attacked a celebrity actress.

Thesis

By innovatively tieing Aimée's actions to her life experience, lacan was able to argue that her attack was in fact made against the (persecutory aspect of the) image of he own Ideal ego, carried out in a sort of narcissistic trance.
