Eckington is a large village in North East Derbyshire, 7 miles north of Chesterfield and south of Sheffield on the border with South Yorkshire. Featured in the Doomsday Book in 1086 (as Echintune) the Parish Church of St. Peter and St. Paul dates back as far as 1100 in some areas.

Local attractions include Renishaw Hall, a 400 year old Manor House.
