Buttevant (Irish: Cill na Mallach) is a village in County Cork, Ireland. It is located on the N20 road between Limerick and Cork. The Limerick–Cork railway line passes by the town, but the station is now closed.

Buttevant has a long equine tradition; the ancient Cahirmee horse fair is still held there every year. The steeplechase originated in 1752 as a result of a race between the church steeples of the town and neighbouring Doneraile town.
